My Month in Bogota, Colombia
Truth be told, I didn’t see as much of Bogota as I would have liked.
Between two trips to Cartagena—one on a floating hostel with Yugens and another to celebrate my best friend’s 30th—spraining my ankle while hiking, renting another home in the country to celebrate Swedish Midsommar and Yugen Build weekend… I, well, ran out of time.
Even so? This is one of the months where my heart has felt its fullest.
From reuniting with friends I haven’t seen in nearly a year to the beautiful and humbling experience of helping a local community, and spending so much time with my own—I’m heading into July feeling overwhelmed, happy, sad… and immensely grateful.
Next month is our last stop on this crazy journey. (Cue: tears.)
As much as I would wish I could hit ‘pause’ and sometimes, even ‘rewind’—I’m so proud of what we’ve built together.
I’m so damn proud to be a Yugen.
This video is long (sorry, not sorry)—but if you can make it through, you can meet the family I helped build a home for. Thanks to the support of our friends and family—and 20 Remote Year groups within our nation—this home is just one of the 42—and counting—that will built by the end of 2019.
Here, a glimpse of June:
