24 Hours on Remote Year….

24 hours in Remote Year life:

Yesterday, woke up and had my last breakfast overlooking the Adriatic Sea on my balcony in Croatia.

Danced with Yugens to “My Girl” and “You Can’t Hurry Love” in our workspace while waiting for one of the 12 vans transporting us to the airport.

Took a flight where I knew 56 passengers, complete with singing happy birthday to a Remote over the intercom.

Walked five floors up to our Prague apartment, right next to the creepy baby tower, with a view overlooking the beautiful city streets. Officially another apartment bigger than any I’ve had in NYC – my room comes with a couch! It also came complete with local beers from the city team, cooling in the fridge.

Paid less than $5 for a cocktail and less than $2 for a beer. Luckily another Remote had cash for us to use the restroom at a beer garden overlooking the city at nighttime. (Around 20 cents to pee, if you’re curious)

Went to a gay bar in Prague with house music, strobing lights, rainbow balloons, pole dancing and a double Bombay Sapphire for around $5.

Stumbled out of the beer hall to find a disco dance club with two DJs and quickly danced our hearts out, collecting glitter on our hair, purses and clothes.

Walked home with said-creepy baby tower as our North Star, stopping for 24/7 tacos at a local stand.

Couldn’t figure out how to open my door at 3 am. Remote downstairs rescued me.

Woke up to the sounds of Prague outside of my giant windows that if you hop out of them, lead to a balcony.

Showered in a shower I didn’t have to hold (!!)

Wondered around Prague, discovering coffee to go (!!!), before visiting a flea market built over abandoned railroad tracks.

Stopped by the mall for a pedicure, where they actually bring the dryer to your seat for you.

Bought meat from a butcher, organic groceries, local produce and now settling in for the evening before beginning work at K10 co-working tomorrow, which used to be the Swedish Embassy.

Still trying to figure out how I got this lucky. What a year!
