A Sunday in Croatia
Woke up at 5:45 a.m. Rode in the front seat on a speedboat as it hopped over waves on the Adriatic Sea. Ducked under a small opening on a paddleboat to get into the Blue Cave, which is one of the most beautiful, fascinating natural illusions I’ve ever experienced. Swam to Stiniva Bay, recently voted the most beautiful beach in Europe in 2016, and cheered on brave remotes as they ‘mini’ cliff-jumped.
Sat on the edge of the boat – sandwich in hand, in a bikini – as we waded through water in Smokova Bay, one of the only sandy beaches in Croatia. Successfully swam with a gin-and-tonic in hand to meet friends, without spilling. Made our way to Hvar, where we first explored Carpe Diem Beach Club, followed by the infamous Hula Hula Beach Club. Explored the quaint downtown of the island of Hvar, complete with a pitstop to do a First-Aid number on my painful blister (thanks, new shoes!).
And last – but not definitely not least – passed around a bottle of Chilean red wine while watching a breathtaking Croatian sunset, as we returned to our home of Split, salty, sweaty – and happy.
First weekend of Remote Year? Amazing. And tomorrow? We work. Rinse, repeat.
